Ten Minute Morning Boot Camp

THANK GOD IT’S ALMOST FRIDAY!

Rise and Shine folks!!

This morning I woke up bright and early and did Lauren’s 10 min Boot Camp Circuit# 2 (Strength and Cardio)

2 min: Warm Up
1 min- jog in place
30 sec- arm circles
30 sec- toe touches

2 min: Round 1

1 min- Burpies
1 min- Walk out push-ups

2 min: Round 2
1 min- skaters
1 min- military kicks with shoulder press (5lb weights)

2 min: Round 3
1 min- alternating side kicks
1 min- squats with shoulder press (5 lb weights)

2 min: Cool Down
1 min- jog in place
1 min- plank

Loved it! I miss circuit training, as soon as I am done with coaching Cross Country(this week) I will be getting to more Mini Living Room Boot camps!!!

I also did some foam rolling and a little stretching as well. I am having some pain in my left knee that only hurts early in the morning and late at night. I can’t feel it when I run, but when I did squats this morning I could feel it. It is not my IT band, it’s closer to my knee cap. I am going to have to make a doctor appointment soon to make sure it’s nothing serious. Any one else ever have a problem like this??

For breakfast I made some Fall Oats!

Picture 498

  • 1/3c water, 1/3c oats, 1/3c soy milk
  • 1/2 banana
  • 1/3 cup pumpkin purée
  • lined the bottom with Nature’s Path Gluten Free Almond Crunch
  • topped my oats with cinnamon apple chunks, nuked for one minute, handful of peanuts, and a drizzle of honey.

Tonight I have my last cross country practice, and we are going to do something fun!!! Not sure what yet, but I was thinking maybe some relays? Any ideas out there???

Have a great day friends!

Bobbi - I have the EXACT same pain!! It hurt doing lunges during my shred yesterday morning, and hurt at night, too - but I got through a fast afternoon 8-miler with no pain during - but then it hurt again this morning. Let me know what you find out!!

I am actually going through some runners knee right now and it sounds like what you have. I am doing some physical therapy for it because it doesn't seem to want to go away.

If you had more time (like if the last practice wasn't tonight!) you could set up a scavenger hunt with notes and clues, and the team would have to run from clue to clue (you couldnt probably make them pretty far apart since they're runners!) and have a surprise at the end!

Aww, I'm so glad to see you liked the bootcamp workout! I LOVE doing these. They are so intense and invigorating. Great way to spend 10 min. of your life.

Aww, Bobbi, I've been having the SAME pain in my knees. I guess its the curse of running so much. I think every serious runner develops some kind of knee pain at some point in their journey. Just need to be smart about it and take care of everything early! Good for you for going to the doctor now.

Take care and let me know how it goes hun. :)
