Pumpkin Patch Tradition

Hubby wanted to show you all the inside of a yellow tomato.

As soon as we got home from Church I made a “EVERYTHING BUT THE KITCHEN SINK” Raw Salad. I chopped up a ton of veggies and fruit and came up with….

this!

  • spinach + romaine
  • jicama ( love this stuff)
  • chopped apple
  • grapes
  • 1/2 yellow tomato
  • mushrooms
  • handful of nuts

I then blended up an avocado, lime, pepper, cilantro and EVOO in the Vita-Mix an attempt to try and make a cilantro avocado dressing. It came out a little thicker then I would have..looks like a GM on my salad…LOL

Non the less it was AMAZING!!!!

After lunch Hubby and I headed over to the Pumpkin Patch to get ourselves a pumpkin to carve, a McCormick Family tradition.

What a fun day already!! I feel like this has been such a productive yet FUN weekend, and it’s  not over yet. I am off to teach kickboxing tonight and then stay tuned for dinner..

Do you guys have a pumpkin patch in your town? Any fall traditions in your house?

I love all the fall pictures! It's funny though- I'm in Boston so when we are doing pumpkin stuff there are no shorts and dresses haha.

I don't know that I've had a yellow tomato that I remember

We used to always go and get pumpkins when I was younger! Then we would make a huge mess trying to carve them ;)

I'm pretty sure pumpkins aren't a native food in Japan. No patches to be found. At least not in our small town. This is a tradition we want to start once we settle back in the U.S. though! Thanks for sharing the photos.

What a great idea to make an avocado into dressing. That had to be fabulous!

My boyfriend and I are going to have a pumpkin carving contest. Haha.

Bobbi you are really becoming quite ETHNIC! First you are a bridesmaid in my wedding and Matt is DJing at it and NOW you are enjoying Jicama! Seriously...squeeze some lime on the Jicama and sprinkle some chile powder on it-it is AMAZING. It's a Mexican's treat! lol

Great photos Bobbi!

We do have several pumpkin patches around. This year, we didn't make it yet - but when we do, it's lots of fun. A couple of years ago, we did a corn maze at the farm we visited. Still stands out as a great family memory for all of us!

Oh...and the salad looks delish!

Can I ask which pumpkin patch you went to? I live not far from you and want to take my son to one...is this the one of I-10 on the way to Oak Glen?
