This morning I woke up and made the most wonderful bowl of Pumpkin Oats!

I served them in my Mr. Baseball Bowl, in honor of today's Dodger game! Go DODGERS (Bring it Lauren..LOL..Love you!) I really want the Dodgers to play the Yankees in the world series this year.

Check out my new BREATHE post: Detoxification :)

Today I am fasting from meat for my 30 day fast.

“It is estimated that the wealthiest 20% of the world’s population eats about 80% of the world’s meat. A large majority of the grain and corn grown around the world today feeds, not poor people, but cattle, pigs, and chicken, which will then be consumed by the rich. Though meat does provide needed protein, most of us already get twice the nationally recommended amount per day. So, choose beans, eggs, and other staples to fill your stomach these next few days, and pass on the poultry and beef.”

Choosing to not eat meat for a day, is not too hard for me for many reasons. First being I can’t have it in my diet right now, but second I love BEANS and non meat sources of protein. If it was up to me, and Hubby wasn’t such a CARNIVORE I could probably become a vegetarian easily. But for me it’s a choice and many people around the world don’t get that choice.

Question: Could you fast from meat for just one day?

that bowl is so cute! and those naturally nutty butters all sound so good.

I could definitely go without meat for a day, and often do depending on the meal plans for that week. My hubby is a big carnivore, too, but I try to plan a meal or two a week without meat in it.

I love all your fun bowls!

I regularly go without meat so it wouldn't be hard to do it for me. For the hubs though it would be much harder - he likes his meat!

Looks like us married ladies are in the same boat! I only eat meat 1 to 2 times a week, usually closer to the weekends when I have a long run scheduled. But I could probably go completly meat free if it weren't for the hubbs! Happy Thursday!

    Hm pumpkin oats. :)
I could totally go without meat for a day. Sometimes I don't eat meat for days at a time. I know I can eat it when I want to though and I know I'm privileged.

    Love the bowl!

I could def go without meat for a day because I am a vegetarian but sometimes I challenge myself to go without soy products like Morningstar Farms or Boca for a day and choose whole foods rather than the quick protein fixes I can choose.
My boyfriend is a big carnivore, but during Lent, he gives up meat every Friday...and one year he gave up meat for the entirety of Lent. I was really proud of him! It brings us closer to be able to cook vegetarian meals together a few times a week :)

I could definitely fast from meat for a day. Though I'm not a vegetarian, I'd say I eat like one most of my meals.Being vegan for a day, however, would be a huge challenge

I've gone 2 weeks now,so I'm very happy without meat in my life. I went 2 years before also. It's more fun coming up with different recipes to cook.

After attending a university with vegetarian choices only on campus, I know I can go without meat for a day. It's interesting to think about how common that is on a global level, though.

I have not eaten meat in months. I was vegan when I met my fiance. For the past 3 years I have eaten a mostly vegetarian diet. I don't normally eat meat that is not organic. But, I have no trouble abstaining from meat.
