Hubby’s Challenges-Our First Vlog

After work I went on a 4 mile trail run in my new kicks! There so white it’s blinding!

Picture 002

When I got home Hubby was hosing out the Gofers, check out the big HOLE!

Picture 001

I was tackled by Mr. Bosco(as always).

Picture 003

Picture 005

With the help of Emeril’s Original Seasoning dinner was delicious!

I cut up some firm tofu and grilled it in some EVOO topped with Emeril’s Seasoning.

Picture 004

While I cooked dinner brought in some more delicious treats from our GARDEN!

Picture 008

We then tried some of the hot peppers, I nearly died!! WHOOO they were HOT!

Picture 006

Hubby said, “YA RIGHT!”.

Picture 007

Dinner was so beautiful.

Picture 010

The Tofu turned out perfect  and the brown sticky rice was just right!

Picture 009

While Hubby and I sat at dinner we chatted about ways to save money and our budget. Then Hubby gave two interesting challenges, I am not sure what I think about the second one, is that sanitary???

Off to do my pushup and sit up challenge!

Love the vBlog!! It's great to put a voice and smile on your family. Especially Bosco! Please vBlog more often. :-)

Strange with your hubby's 'challenge' that he would pick your PJ tops instead of something more practical like not using the dishwasher often or showering for 5 minutes each day. Ugh. Who does that? With regard to the PJ tops, I'd say change it every 2-3 days depending on how smelly it is. Your nose (or hubby's nose) can use
its discretion.

Now you'll have to vBlog your cooking! That'll be fun!

Maybe I'm weird, but I don't wash pjs after 1 wear. I often shower right before bed and I don't feel they are dirty after just sleeping.

always love a good challenge! reusing a top for bed i dont think would be to bad, have like 3 for the week and switch it up!

love the vlog and you should def do it more often :)

That is a great picture of Bosco!

And props for trying out that pepper. The hubby's expression is great.

I always try to unplug the electronics we don't use. I think its a small but impactful way to save money and energy.

As for the PJ top...
I say "sleep naked" but then again, when you have the Po Po kicking in your doors during the middle of the night, that might not be a good idea.

I like your Claddegh ring! I debated wearing mine after I got married because it is sometimes used as a wedding band. Glad to see I am not the only one who wears both!

Anonymous said...

I wear my PJ tops about 2-3 times before washing them. It's not really an issue unless you are someone who gets hot when she sleeps. I'm usually cold so it's no biggie. I also re-wear my lounge shorts. I still have laundry every day because Snuffy can't rewear anything and Mallard has work clothes. However, he does wear his "chillaxing shorts" a few times before washing.

HI !
I tryed to tell my bfriend, tv is stil using power if it's not on... And he believes it now when new electricitybill arrived...

not using any PJ at all, saves even more :D

Do you guys leave the A/C on for Bosco all summer? The A/C is so major during these hot temps but can't risk the high electric bills. So turn it on for 5-6 hours at 78F on hot days. Use a commercial strength 18" fan all the time though. Also have ceiling fan and small desk fan to pacify me as well. This helped keep my electric bill down last month.

Haha I love this VBlog post! Hubby knows what he is talking about too! I usually roate 2 different T-Shirts throughout the week. By this I mean, the shirts I change into after work and wear into the evening and to sleep in. Really, I think it's entirely sanitary because if you are not going out in public, who cares what you are wearing to lay around the house. ANd it really does cut back on laundry.

Great tips hubby! Keep them coming. ;)

unplugging stuff is the best thing you can do! hubby and I plan to get more power strips so that we can easily access the power strips and turn multiple things off or on when we're not using them.

as for wearing things over again - theres nothing unsanitary about it unless you're rolling around in Mud or pee or something ;-) I wear the same PJ's for a week - i'm clean when I get into them - no biggie. I grew up doing that, doesn't sound ab normal to me. We also use only 1 bath towel per week.

our friends we lived with, told us to not flush unless it was #2, so yes, we were peeing after one another to save on flushes/water. while I totally admire the reasons, I just don't feel that is sanitary - thoughts?? we even ran it by both our moms and they were grossed out by it. I guess maybe if just hubby and I do that, its no big deal. I tend to do it some nights when its just me and I've been chugging water and peeing every hour - I dunno..

Bosco is so cute!!!

I think the challenges are good ones. I try to keep most things unplugged, but have got to find a way to do the main tv/radio setup.

I wear the same pjs for 4-6 days, because I'm clean when I get them. no biggie.

Christy said...

My husband and I definitely wear our PJ's or loungewear more than once, say 3-4 days? We also use our bath towels for about 3 days. I figure they are clean every time I use them to dry off so no biggie. And my husband turns off the water in the shower as he washes up. Saves a ton! I just can't seem to do that one yet...

Love the vlog!

We definitely wear our pj's a couple of times before washing. We do the same with towels too.

1st- I love the new shoes... makes me wish I could afford to go buy me and hubby some much needed shoes!

2nd- jealous of your garden too- that's awesome

3rd- what brand of brown sticky rice do you make? I've been looking for the perfect one

4th- I think the unplug challenge is great.... I've been working on that more with my hubby. And the pj thing is definitely doable, I say go for it!

Wow 59 comments! that's crazy! We already do unplug most things when they are off (except our laptops) haha But our electricity bill was 4.50 this month! We are on the program with Edison where they can shut off our AC if it gets too hot / too much going on. Anywho, our bill is normally around 20 dollars. It really does help to unplug everything.

and yeah... just sleep naked! hahaha I usually wear pjs 2 or 3 times. But not when it's so hot (like right now) that I sweat out all night! haha

LOVE THE VLOG! Please do that more often!

Love the first challenge, great idea!

As far as the 2nd goes - I don't think it's unsanitary - I always push my PJ tank tops to 3 or 5 days. I am a very "cold" sleeper - so I don't think they get dirty (sorry if that grosses you out!) ;)

The Reeds said...

I think the "hubby" is smart and "Africa" worthy! We do all of these things. People typically "overwash" all clothes anyway.. handwash for a few months and you come back to the States with a WHOLE NEW idea on washing clothes and using electricity..

the one my husband can't handle is not flushing often here in the states... but it DOES save water and was a must where we lived before!
