Carbo-Loading Time!

Tonight I hosted my first CARBO LOADING party at my house for my Cross Country team! I know that their races are only 3 miles, and I am not the biggest advocate for carbo loading, but pasta is really just an excuse to come together and play :).

I made two types of pasta, regular spaghetti noodles…

and some Healthy Harvest Whole Wheat Rotini.

Home made spaghetti sauce…

it was perfect, I did a taste first.

I got some lemonade and water to drink , no soda tonight. What is the difference between pink lemonade and regular lemonade???

Skinny Bride saved the day and brought two delicious salads.

After we all ate (no picture of my food I really didn’t eat too much I was too busy laughing) and joked around about fun “High School” stuff…man these kids are funny!! We played a little Rock Band!! These kids are good!!!

Then it was time for dessert, I gave them ice cream sandwiches and enjoyed a Fudgesicle :).

What a fun time, I love these kids!! I am so blessed at the opportunity to lead them as their COACH. I love being relational, I forgot how fun Cross Country was, I forgot how fun it is just to let the kid out in me come out and play!!

Tonight I realized something very important, I am living out my DREAM. I have always wanted this opportunity to coach and I am really doing it!!!

Now it is time to call it a night!!!

NEED TO GET IN BED!!! I am waking up at 5:15am to get to the gym for some Jillian “Making the Cut” maybe I should put on some “Eye of the Tiger” to wake me up again :).

Night Friends!

You are such a fabulous coach. WOw, I don't recall a single experince like this when I was doing high school sports. All my coaches were either crazy, mean yelling ladies or old retired dudes who were just looking for something to do on weeknights. Kind of creepy now that I really think about it. LoL

You are such an inpsiration on these kids and I know you are touching their lives more than you probably realize.

Have a wonderful night girly!

Your pasta party looks like so much fun! I ran cross country and track all through junior high and high school too, and I would love to coach someday as well!
