Chili Dogs the Healthy Way

It  was so nice getting off at 4pm and being able to go to a free yoga class that was hosted by my dear friend Rachel. She is getting her yoga training certificate and is practicing on us bootcamp ladies! It was so nice, and I got a great stretch in.

Today on my lunch break I went to TJ’s for some groceries for the next two weeks.

Meatless corn dogs, hoping that Hubby doesn't notice:)

And the inspiration for tonight's dinner, Spinach Fontina & Roasted Garlic Chicken Sausages.

food 339

I had this can of Veggie Chili I have been wanting to save for the perfect evening!

food 341

I was excited to fire up the grill, and have so much light outside!

food 343

The whole wheat honey wheat TJ’s hot dogs buns were delicious and so were these chicken sausages!! I topped my dog with some veggie chili and a little light cheddar cheese.

food 345

I made some sweet potato fries to go along with it. I mixed the potatoes with a little EVOO, pepper and a little Rondevouex seasoning and baked for 400 degrees for 20 minutes.

food 346

I grilled up some asparagus for some greenery as well.

This dinner was satisfying and way better then FAST FOOD, a total of 400 calories and 7 grams of FAT!!! Whoever said you can’t chili dogs and be healthy??

I am currently catching up on blogs and responding to some emails I have been meaning to get to today! I am also enjoying two Girl Scout Peppermint Patties and watching the The Break-up

Looks like you are going to have some nice dinners. Trader Joe's is the best.

We had TJ's grilled chicken sausages too. I had the Sundried Tomato and Basil falvor and they were very good, but the kind that you got sounds even better.

Hope you had a wonderful day!

I MUST go to my TJ's and see if they have those corn dogs. My husband had his first corn dog last summer (what type of childhood did he have?!!) and is obsessed. I do not eat hot dogs, so this would be a great combination. Let us know how they are and if the hubbie liked them!

I love that you season with Rondevouex! Rondevouex, Corky's and Dancing Pigs from the BBQ Shop spinces are all staples in my pantry. Ahhh, your post takes me back to good old Memphis and my college days!

That chili dog looks awesome! I have that same chili (okay - like 3 of them) in my cupboard, so I think I have some inspiration for it :-)

Now that we have moved, we don't have a TJ's nearby, and I can't even tell you how much I miss it already!!! I am going to stock up next time I am close to one!

I followed that program! I really like it and had great results...now only if I was still lifting. It's definitely intense!

Your dinner looks amazing! I would love meals like this, but I think the hubby would turn his nose up at the chicken sausage. I sure wish I had a trader joe's nearby....

Those chicken sausages rock! Those are my fav, but the maple apple ones are good too!

Let us know how those avocado halves are. I saw them yesterday at TJ's and passed them up. I would love to have a way avocado without losing the part that I didn't eat at one time. I am the only one in my house who eats them!
