Luncheon+Skinny Bride Shopping Adventure!

My body is telling me to make this quick and GO to BED! I just have so much to do still and it’s already 9pm. Oh well the rest must wait until the morning. Today was filled with so much funness, is that a word?

I was invited to a Fashion Show/Luncheon with my friend Melissa’s sorority group. It was nice, a lot of old seasoned women, drinking tea and drooling over what I like to call “Chaps”. It was nice to hang with Melissa, and that’s all that really matters!

The Eats

Grubbed on a million couple handful of nuts, and a mini muffin before lunch was served.

Lunch was a beautiful grilled chicken and walnut salad.

5

With rolls, which I gladly ate 3 of, especially because I wasn't’ having dessert.

4

While everyone was grubbing on this……

8

I was drinking this…….

Melissa was so sweet and made us all specialized mugs, which I can’t wait to eat my oats in!!!!

After the Luncheon I headed straight over to “Skinny Brides” house to take her on a shopping trip. We hit TJ’s and the local market. It was a lot of fun, I seriously could do this for a living!!! We went back to her house, and I felt like that Doctor on T.V. that goes through peoples cupboards and tells them what not to eat. We wrote out a list of all the snack and meal options that she has, so she is set up for the week:)

In between meals I snacked on one of these bad boys!

mmm…I really liked these, it was so worth the $1.

I also picked up a bunch of grocery for Hubby and I as well, and made the most delish turkey burgers!!!

Apple Cheddar BBQ Burgers.

The Combo:

  • 1 pound turkey meat
  • 1 egg white
  • 1 apple
  • 1 cup of cheddar cheese
  • EVOO
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1 tbsp wortshershire sauce
Mixed them all up in a bowl with my fingers, scored and cooked over the stove for about 8 minutes on each side.

13

Served with one piece of WW bread, tomatoes, lettuce, red potatoes, and Country Bobs BBQ sauce for dipping.

WRAPPING IT UP

I am currently working on moving my blog to word press, I hope that this goes ok:) I leave you with this article from Active.com that was quite informative for this RUNNER. In a time where we all are trying to stay healthy and not catch the spring bug this article spoke volumes to me.

Run Healthy

-By Jeana Durst

It's a familiar scenario: You wake up one morning feeling like a piece of lead, with a sore throat and clogged sinuses. Only two weeks until your half marathon, you do what many runners would: Pop some vitamins, lace up and head out the door. Why should a runny nose compromise your hard-earned gains? What's the worst that could happen?

We paid a visit to a few doctors to find out exactly how running affects your immune system. Here are the experts' diagnoses on common beliefs about running and wellness.( read more)

Are you running with a cold????

That mug is definitely cute! I love those Odwalla Bars and their juices! I figured that if you haven't already tried them then you would probably LOVE them, too, so I actually ordered us some coupons online through their website. I checked my post office box today and got mine so you probably should have received yours by now. (I don't check my P.O. box everyday). Good stuff!! :-)

Those burgers sound awesome, great combo of flavours :) I'll have to give them a try sometime.

I think the whole food shopping with someone to help them set up a healthy kitchen would be tons of fun as well.
