As Promised: Naturally Nutty Give-Away!
REVIEW OF NATURALLY NUTTY
A couple of weeks ago I received a nice package in the mail from Katie at Naturally Nutty. Thanks Katie!!! I got 4 wonderful flavors:
Read her story, it rocks!
THE STORY
I live in Traverse City, Michigan as a vegetarian Mom with three kids. As a peanut butter lover myself, I began searching for the ultimate peanut butter. It had to be a peanut butter that tasted amazing and, at the same time, was packed with natural and organic ingredients. I love hemp seed and flax seed because their benefits are endless (see below) but I couldn't find any peanut butter that used them. While there are some good peanut butters out there, nothing seemed perfect. I was looking for a healthy alternative to the major brands without comprising taste and texture and without the thick layer of oil on top. So since I couldn't find what I was looking for, I created my own with the help of friends and family. (read more)
How cool is that, she couldn’t find what she wanted so she went out there and made her own, man what a women!

YAY! I'm so sad i emailed her last year and she said she could send me samples but no luck :( Oh well, fun contest! Hm..i would like to a coconut/pb combo..or mocha!? And as for NHershoes- i've learned a lot :D But I think your blog is just a straight up balance of juggling life, relationships, faith and a busy schedule!! You get it all done, and make sure not to kill yourself in the process! Thanks bobbi :D
well, i must say the existing flavors look really good ... but i think it would be neat to see an almond/peanut butter combination or mixed nut/peanut butter combination.
as far as what i've learned from your blog ... i initially came here looking for your secrets to running a 3:24 marathon ;) but i've also learned (or been reminded) about what's important in life, such as family, friends, self-improvement, etc.
thanks!
I'm all for chocolate/nut butter combos. I don't know if this is something I've "learned" but I love how much you appreciate the people in your life. :-)
Man I am a SUCKA for peanut butter!! I've only been on the natural PB wagon for about 2 months, but I swear it has changed everything! mmmmmmmm, peanut butter.
I'd love a hazelnut PB, oh man.
One thing I've learned from this blog, is that its okay to make a big spread of food, just be sure to send most of it home with your guests at the end of the night! :D
Personally I like the sound of either Maple or Cinnamon or both! oooooooh what have I learned from N Her Shoes?!?! CARRY MY MONEY AND LICENSE IN A ZIP POUCH WHEN I'M RUNNING. fo'sho'... have a great night!
the vanilla almond butter looks amazing!
i have learned how to make a protein pumpkin pancake! that seriously looks sooo good! also, i am inspired by your story, and i always feel like running after reading your blog :)
I would love any peanut butter with chocolate.
I have learned from your blog that it is okay that weight loss is slow and steady process. I love your tips of healthy living as well.
After much discussion, the husband and I think a wild blueberry almond butter may be good. Dried wild blueberries throughout the almond butter, sweetened naturally by blueberry juices? Yum!!
And what have I learned from your blog? You are incredibly inspiring, with the way that you're so awesome at balancing faith, exercise, work, school, love, life!! Everything! Your optimism is encouraging and you're such a breath of fresh air! I've learned that it's possible to do whatever you set your mind to, and you can do it ALL, just have balanced! (And I've recently learned more about friendships and dedication through you, too!)
white chocolate coconut! my my, they all sound divine though :)
umm, if i were a nut butter, i'd probably be almond base, with banana and coconut :)
as for your blog, you seem to do it all so well girl! i LOVE how balanced your life is, and even the blog, we get a little bit of everything!
I would love to try orange/nut combo! sounds so good ;)
From your blog, I've learned that BALANCE in life is the most important thing in life.
What a great idea. I think I'd like to see more creativity with cashew and almond butters - maybe a chocolate almond butter... mmm...
As for your blog, I've been enjoying reading since I learned about it through the booty buster challenge. I'm a big fan of the breakfast recipes!
naturally nutty!?? YES PLEASE :)
1. new PB invention- I would love a peanutbutter flavored with flecks of blueberries and vanilla
(not overly vanilla, just a light hint)....it would be mimicking a fav. desert of mine...angelfood cake topped w/ blueberries and a smear of PB!
2. I've learned lots from your blog, and I love how you balance fun with food, family, friends, and health. You've done an awesome job to make food fuel your busy days at AKB and running around training! I have lots to be inspired by :)
thanks bobbi! (Hope I win, yayaya!!!)
I think a great nut butter would be a combo of mint and chocolate and coffee :) like a peanut butter thin mint flavor! yummmy!
and as for your blog you have showed me that anyone can balance life with exercise. You truly inspire me to get out there. I can see you have work and a relationship and still go run or workout! thanks for having such a great view on life!
hmmm...would banana pb be a wierd flavor? i think it might be pretty good!
i don't comment that much but i have to say i really enjoy reading your blog. i love the running tips page especially your advice to invest in good shoes! i also wear the same asics as you!
I'm thinking an amaretto-flavored almond butter might be yummy. But you know how some flavors sound better in theory...
I've learned from you (among many things): yummy sloppy potatoes, & that I really really need to replace my french press :)
i totally want a flavor to have dried cranberries...there's already one w/ raisins...why not cranberries?! they're soooo good!
and i've learned a lot from your blog! there are so many great/healthy/easy recipes for me to make as a single person and all the running info you provide is amazing!
I know this sounds kinda strange but I would love pumpkin to be mixed into the nut butter flavor!
I love so many things about your blog.. learned a lot from the running tips :)
i would like maple flavor :) and i've learned to stay positive from reading your blog.
I would love to see a butter pecan butter,,,and I learned that you reallylike to run.
madamerkf at aol dot com
I would like to see a chocolate and nut combo.
What I learned from this blog is to never give up and enjoy your family and friends and just life in general.
Nut butters are great as they are.(Okay, I've only had peanut and almond butters.) I'd like one that tastes both like the original nut AND like the taste of running success!
...which is impossible. Oh well!
And from your blog, I've learned that you can go from being out of shape to super fit and healthy and FAST and AWESOME. :)
I would LOVE to try that toffee flavor. And I've been hearing about this white chocolate peanut butter I have to try. I seriously have to have peanut butter at least once a day to live, so I really hope I win!
I am a new reader, but something really interesting that I learned from it already is that runners have to be so careful on the road, and that they even make that ID tag to keep you safe. I'm always scared driving by bikers or runners on the road (there are a lot around in this college town), and I try to give them their distance. Just doing my part for the runners :).
I'd want a nut butter to be peanut flavor, and I learned that you shop at Trader Joe's.
I would die a happy woman with some white chocolate chunky almond butter
I love your blog because its a little bit of everything, but your running tips are really helpful too! I love that you think its good for me to have my huge mug of coffee before my morning run!!!
chocolate and it releives menopause or pms
Hrmm, I'm not sure about flavor. Chocolate already exists and so does maple. Maybe a butterscotch PB flavor? That could be interesting!
I've learned a ton Bobbi, especially how to be more positive in day to day life. Don't let things get you down, just move along, tomorrow is a new day! :D
I would like a Honey-Nut version. And one of the things I learned is to have a little bit of caffeine before your workout because it gets things moving.
Peanut butter is one of my favorite foods and I would love to try some variations.
Butter Toffee Peanut Butter sounds amazing :) But Butter Toffee Almond Butter would be even better.
I learn a lot about how to stay sane in all the hectic craziness that life can throw at you through your blog. I love your humor and sincere writing style.
Thanks for the giveaway and please enter me!
hurdler4eva(at)gmail(dot)com
I would absolutely love a mixed almond, honey not butter. My fiance and I always mix our nut butters that we grind fresh at Whole Foods even though we're not supposed to..oops!
I've learned a great deal about balance on your site and that anything is possible!
How about cashew butter? I made cashew butter once, and it was great! Thank you!
I think a honey peanut butter would be good, or cinnamon. I love cinnamon anything.
As for what I've learned...having battled and still battling several issues with food, peanut butter has always been something that I didn't allow myself. So when I do let myself eat it, I tend to go over board. So I go back and forth between allowing myself one peanut butter sandwich a week to none in the house to a taste every day. I just can't find the balance with foods that I love but have always denied myself. I know peanut butter is so good for us and important for runners so I'm trying. And through your blog and others, I've learned that you can eat peanut butter and still be in shape and not over weight.
Ya know, I'm not one for flavored anything. I hope this counts- but I love just plain ol unflavored peanut butter (ni jelly)
You were a cheerleader in 9th grade, and then quickly switched to cross-country and water polo, because you didn't feel comfortable in a short skirt!
Well, I think I would like chocolate-banana PB because those are probably my three favorite foods. And from reading N Her Shoes, I've learned what AKB is!
I would love to see an "Amaretto Peanut Butter" - I think that flavor combo would be amazing!
I learn so much from you Bobbi! You are my running inspiration! I've learned a lot about putting together a plan and traning, and that you have to listen to your body! The day I got an actual pair of "running" shoes - was the best day ever! :)
My favorite flavor would have to be natural - I've never tried any other flavor of peanut butter lol. I've learned that weight loss can be a slow process. asthenight at gmail dot com
Almonds are my favorites, so I'd like to see more expansion with the almond line that they currently have (milk chocolate or coconut). And maybe a line with hazelnuts or pistachios, too.
Your story is so inspirational. I've been incorporating more oatmeal in my diet and didn't think I had many options with it (I usually at it like a cold cereal and add dried cranberries, flax seeds, almonds, vanilla protein powder and almond milk to get it wet). After looking through your posts about the meals with oatmeal, I have become a bit more inspired. Thank you!
elkaye[at]gmail[dot]com
as long as it involves dark chocolate and peanut butter - I'm good to go!!!!
i've learned that when I start actually running on the "road" I should make sure to have some sort of ID with me be it in my pants or on my wrist - awesome!!!
I think cinnamon would be the best. :)
and i just learned today about running safety! I might have to get one of those ID bands you showed a picture of - what a good idea!
I'm actually a loyal fan on cinnamon raisin pb but i pretty much love it all, I would love to try to naturally nutty mocha pb I had sent to my mom for christmas and she loved it!
I would pick the NATURAL PB flavor. I hate to stray from something that we already know is SO GOOD! :)
I have learned so much from your blog - but mostly to appreciate the people in my life - since you seem to be so good at that!
Lub to bin tid
I would love some butterscotch in my peanut butter or maybe a spicy peanut butter, so I can make sesame noodles.
I love reading your blog and have been inspired to start having date night with my husband. We get to spend a lot of time together at night, but most of it is me reading while he does his school work. I think having date night will allow us to spend some quality time together.
may be some kind of mint- you have owned my own graphic design / print company for the last 5 years
Its so great to see this PB pop up alot on the blogs, living in Traverse City aswell, its great to see!!!
my mom would love this.
I love adding cinnamon to my peanut butter and putting it on an apple, so I would love to see a cinnamon-flavored peanut/almond butter.
I have really been inspired by your blog to develop more of a spiritual relationship in my life. I don't go to church but would love to find a group of friends who enjoy talking about spiritual ideas and thoughts.
I would love a chocolate/peanut butter combination.
I have enjoyed reading and learning from your training.
I love just the plain nutty goodness with no additional flavors added. YUM. What I learned from your blog is consistent training/running can make you faster, if you do it in the right way. I'm still working on training to get faster, but I've definitely seen an improvement since i started focusing on only one thing during each training session. Thank you Bobbi!!
Chocolate and nuts
Oh my goodness I've wanted to try Natural Nutty for so long! I would say my favorite flavor of nut butter would be almond with chocolate. And I've learned a LOT of fun, healthy recipes from reading your blog. Keep it up! Have a great day =)
What a great giveaway... I'm bound to win one of these one day!
1) I'd love to try the Butter Toffee flavor. I normally would go for something with chocolate but the Peanut Butter Co chocolate pb tastes so fake to me that I think maybe chocolate pb just doesn't work for me since I'm a true chocoholic.
2) From reading your blog, I'm learning to adopt your positive attitude. :)
I would love to try the Almond one would be delicioussss.
I feel like i've learned a lot from all the blogs i've read. one thing i've learned from you is balance. You do an awesome job with balancing work and play.
YUM!! What a fun contest!!
The ultimate nut butter.....mmmm...pecan butter. pecans are so indulgent, i could only imagine how good it would be.
Your blog is amazing...I too am a distance runner/triathlete, and sometimes have issues balancing everything and keeping the joy in my training/passion. You keep it fun and real!!
the toffee butter sounds fantastic!! I've mostly just "lurked" on your blog, but you have a really contagious positive outlook on health and life. I'm learning how to incorporate health, fitness, faith, friends into a good life and you are a great example:)
Currently, I'm in love with the Chocolate/PB combination that PB & Co. makes but I'd also like to try the toffee kind you're giving away!
From your blog I have definitely learned a lot! Your running tips page was the first page I looked at when first coming to your site and it further inspired me to run my first 5K! Thanks Bobbi!
I would defintely be intrigued by a coconut almond blend. Maybe because I combine them in my oats so often!
Oh, and I have learned from you and this site that you are superhuman athlete and runner. But that it is important not to compare myself to overachievers but be inspired to try the hardest I can and be safe.
Hmm maybe chocolate almond crunch with bits of almond and chocolate pieces?
You inspire me in my running and my life...especially on how to balance lots of things at once!
hope this peanut butter is safe
I've never tried any flavor of peanut butter besides peanut. :) I've been really wanting to try the Butter Toffee flavor and a Chocolate flavor!
One thing that I've learned from you in the last week or so is to really change up my workout routine to keep from plateauing... I've been changing it up this week and I've been sore every day!
Also, I just noticed that I have the same running shoes that you have in your blog header. :)
First flavour that came to mind: Cinnamon... mmm! and a Clover Honey infused nut butter sounds good, too! Thank you for offering this giveaway! eyeslikesugar [at] gmail [dot] com
cool giveaway. I'd like to see a chocolate almond peanut
I would love to have a SMORES flavor nut butter. I so miss smores, there is just no way to make them healthy.
Wow, I have learned so much from your blog. You have inspired me to run more, try kickboxing, branch out to yoga. Get real running shoes, put protein powder in my smoothies & my favorite... you have given me the courage to try a Running Skirt for my first race. I love your blog & cant wait for your new post each day.
I'd love a PB & honey combo. Yum!
I admire the way you get everything done and still seem to have time for yourself -- I'm on the road to learning that!
Thanks for the opportunity, I love contests! I think a coconut cashew butter would be awesome!
I've learned many things(thanks!)but one thing I found very helpful were your tips on Thursdays post about how to make running on the road safer!
I've always wanted chocolate almond butter! The vanilla almond butter here is really interested! I must obtain one. I mixed a jar of cashew butter with a jar of hazelnut butter and it was amazing.
I've learned from this blog that no matter how busy you are, you can always find time to eat good, healthy food and exercise!
Peanut Butter and cinnamon. I have learned from your blog that it is okay that weight loss is slow and steady process.
Dark Chocolate Raspberry would do it for me! Yum! That Chocolate toffee sounds amazing though.
One thing I have learned here at N Her Shoes is it takes a heck of a lot of work to BQ. Just sticking to a good running schedule isn't enough (unless you're naturally lucky) You need to change things up a lot and cross train really hard.
BTW I'm running -not racing- the 7 on the 7th too. I can't wait!
I would love to try a cinammin peanut butter.
From NHershoes I have learned about the importance about the proper footwear and clothing for running and how it really does affect your performance.
DARK CHOCOLATE RASPBERRY SOUND FABULOUS
Peanut Butter n honey sounds great! Thank you!
I learned its best to get a training buddy and goal. I have recently started working out with a friend and we are having so much fun together.

I am still looking for someone to do a banana flavor...mmm. now I'm drooling.
Let's see what have I learned here, seriously what have I not learned. You talk about being a better person, a better friend, a better runner and you certainly are part of the inspiration for my attempt at boston.
Chocolate Cherry Peanut Butter sounds heavenly
you like to work out alot I wish that I had that ambition
Don't mess with perfection- just a pure almond butter for me.
My favorite nuts are macadamia nuts, so why not have a macadamia nut butter. I love that you are so into eating whole, natural foods and drink POM. I would love to try your healthy nut butters. Thanks for the great giveaway.
I think a wonderful addition to any nut butter would be chocolate almond butter. I love the combination of chocolate and almond and it might be good in an almond butter! I have also learned to love those running skirts as well. (I got one after you talked about it on your must haves for running...I also thought that it was just for girls to show off themselves...but they are so comfy and adorable..)
Hi there, I think I actually own those pink and silver runners you've got on. What a great and inspirational site you have. I am also a mom and active person, I like to say athlete and then always feel like I should take it back. But, you make me feel like I should be proud of myself, for doing what many others don't. I love peanut butter, it is my best source of protein probably as I am vegan. I would love a coffee-flavored peanut butter! How great would that be! xo
Love it all. Please enter me in contest.

Maybe something sweet like PB and marshmallow. Your blog reminds me to stay on point.
gkstratos@yahoo.com
First of all peanut butter and I have a very good relationship. We are in love. I've always liked and enjoyed peanut butter but I never truly appreciated it until I started eating the natural less processed kind. Now I have to pry myself away from the jar. I recently made it to the bottom of a large bottle and am in desperate need for more. Since I eat very little meat I try to get a little more bulk into my meals with the pb. I would love to try to the chocolate butter toffee. It sounds divine! (Combing my two favorite things...chocolate and pb!)
What I've learned from your blog and all the others I stay in touch with is there are real women out there just like me trying to stay healthy and fit. I currently am in undergraduate at Florida State and am surrounded by girls who either don't care about being healthy or who take it way too far. I find inspiration from reading healthy-living food blogs. It's comforting to know that other women aspire to live an active healthy lifestyle like I do. I feel that in America we are too few and far between.
I love the idea of cinnamon ... but really, there's very little peanut butter I would turn down!! Ha! :) Thanks!
yum i have been wanting to try this! the cinnamon sounds awesome!
i am just starting running, i learned about how caffeine is not necessarily beneficial
the coconut pb would be awesome! that is the only way to keep my mister out of it! lol!
umm, so would the toffee. I would have to hide that one!
I have learned balance from you. I haven't mastered it but I am a slow learner on complex things! and balance is complex to me! but you are inspiring! thank you!

I know it's boring, but just the plain natural peanut butter is what I love without anything else mixed in it.
What I've learned from your blog was that you're a self-motivated person and you come quite a journey since your high school days when you were a little "chubby". Good for you!!!!
I like plain peanut butter, but the chocolate butter toffee sounds real good to me. I like your running tips & about the running shirts
tiramisu392 (at) yahoo.com
Chocolate hazelnut butter would most likely get spread on everything in my kitchen. Please don't take my suggestion as i have enough problems with spreading regular PB on everything.
i think maybe an interesting combination would be an walnut peanut butter... i may even try to create this at home sometime using my vitamix and some olive oil, we shall see haha...
anyway, i have learned SO much from your blog but i think the biggest takeaway is about relationships and putting forth positive energy into each one. i really resonated with your comment about how draining relationships are when the other person doesnt put any true effort into it. i've been really making a conscious effort to really truly be there for my close friends and family and just truly be there for them no matter the occasion :)

Those nut butters sound great! I'm big into the cashew/macadamia nut blend I can get at the natural food store, but for these I'd love to try the Butter Toffee Peanut Butter!
As for what I've learned from your Blog. As a fellow runner and vegetarian I've learned a quite a bit from your blog about running gear and training. I'm training for my first marathon and am kinda nervous about racing such a long distance, so I appreciate all the advice I can find. You might have even convinced me to try running in a skirt come the warm weather!
White chocolate!
And I've learned that exercise is worth the extra schedule-juggling.

I am a fan of the PB, but also have had a problem with finding the perfect one! I do like the addition of flax seeds, have had PB with that before and it was great. If I could make my own flavor, it would be cinnamon and ginger almond butter, because cinnamon makes everything better! Not to mention the health benefits of those two spices.
I am new to your blog, but since reading your story I have learned how my hard work can definitely pay off if I keep trying! I have also been on the path to weight loss, and I am almost where I want to be. I have read how you have been mixing it up with your workouts, and I have known for a long time thats what I need to do, but now I have that extra push to get it done.
I wish you the best!

Is it enough that I learned something but didn't necessarily apply it? I've learned the importance of balance in life, but I haven't been very successful at achieving it so far.
