Tuesday Feeding Your Soul: Friendships?

Morning peeps! This post is going to have to be quick. I woke up to a dead car battery, why does everything keep braking!!!! I am really trying to think positively and not get upset about these small things, Garmin, Camera, and now car battery!!! At least I have a car and a friend who is letting me barrow her Garmin until I can get mine fixed:)

Last night’s AKB class was awesome as always and when I got home at 9pm I had my ritual bowl of cereal, then hit the hay early for this mornings run.

Woke up at 5:30am to take on the road with my runny buddy for a 4.5 mile run with some tempo in there.

RUNNING STATS Week 3 of Boston training ( 11 more weeks to go)

Time: 40 minutes
Distance: 4.5 miles
Average pace: around 9:30 (not including the 7minute tempo mile)
Calories Burned: 543

I quickly came home and made myself a “meaty” breakfast.

An Egg Soyrizo Burrito! I took one egg and one egg white mixed in a little skim milk and cooked with my new love Soyrizo. This stuff taste just like Chorizo!!!! I then wrapped it up in my tortilla and put a small dollop of sour cream on top. Talk about some protein!

and had a little yogurt, fruit, and Natures Path Flax Granola cup on the side.

The perfect breakfast after a run! Tonight I get to do Jillians 30 day shred video and study for A&P and then my full rest day is tomorrow.

FEEDING YOUR SOUL

Today I want to talk about the value of true friendships and how they feed one’s soul. What does it mean to be a true friend? To me the definition is quite simple, it’s someone who stands by you no matter what. They might not agree with some choices you make in life, but they are still there to give you a listening ear, or just a great big hug, or even bring you ice-cream when you have had a rough day!

I have had some wonderful friendships in my lifetime, and I am even starting some new one’s right now. I think there are two types a friends, the “hey how’s it going”, friends, and the “hey I miss you let’s have coffee and chat” friends. I choose to be the one that wants' to have coffee with you and listen to you. I HATE superficial friendship, and I refuse to be a part of them. They do NOTHING for my soul but make me bitter. I want the REAL kind, so that I can be there for you and KNOW what’s going on in your life, only then can I feed your soul, as you do mine. What kind of friend are you????

I consider myself to be a very good listener - well I like to be there for my friends and help them if I can !
The world will be such a better place if we were all just there for each other, not worrying about personal interests and gains.

Yay for week 3 of Boston training!! Your Soyrizo burrito looks so yummmmy!

As for your topic of true friendship... I agree with you on how friendship shows up in so many ways. I appreciate the ones that I see every once in a while and those that I have a regular relationship with. What's really important to me is that friendship is a relationship, a two way street. I think having that understanding is important, too!

Sorry about the dead car battery. I hope it gets fixed quickly and inexpensively.

On the topic of friendship, I hope to keep being a good (and becoming a better) friend now that I've graduated from college. Hopefully, I can keep up with everyone and always be a positive part of their lives.

...Obviously, this includes bloggers--like YOU!

I would like to think of myself as the "I miss you, let's get some coffee..." type. I KNOW that you are that type and you fed my soul on numerous occasions. Lots of time goes between our visits but I know that our friendship is REAL. Thank you for blessing me with your friendship.

Sorry about your car trouble! My battery died a few months ago.

Where do you buy that soyrizo? Whole Foods? I wanna pick some up!

I am a let's meet up and chat friend too. I also like to make sure I am always in touch with my friends. I try not to let too much time pass.

I'm the “hey I miss you let’s have coffee and chat” kind of friend but everyone seems so busy these days... It just means I only have a couple close friends...

I'm all about being particular about "friends." I don't toss the word around lightly and take the relationship seriously. My friends are part of my family, they mean so much to me. I'm so lucky to have so many of them.

I TOTALLY feel you about friendships! There are so many of those superficial people out there, and I wonder to myself if they even have ANY real friends...probably not. I choose to be a real, tangible friend, and while sometimes that includes fights, and honesty, I think it's the way to go :)

I would like to think I am a real friend. I am a great listener. In fact, bad listening skills is one of my biggest pet pieves. oy oy oy.

My my, that breakfast looks out of this world good! It's reminding me that I really need to try Soyrizo!

I completely agree with your perspective on friendship. I think that's why I have a small number of people that I am really close to instead of a large group of friends that I only talk to occasionally. Superficiality stinks!

i keep hearing aboyt how good soyrizo is and I want to try it, but I can't bring myself to waste $$ because I DO NOT LIKE: vegan cheese, vegan hotdogs, vegan bacon, etc. I DO like tofurkey deli slices, and soy crumbles but agh!!

Nice workout stats and burrito!

I'm definitely the "let's go to lunch/dinner or go have coffee" friend. I love meeting up and talking...it's the best!

I think you know my perspective on the friendship thing but it's been hard to accept that my life-long "#1 besty" is no longer an actual concept. I have several friends whom are close to my heart but I'm finally fine with the fact that many of my friendships have slipped away. I agree with many other bloggers in that friendship is a two-way street. I try so hard to be a good friend and hope I live up to my efforts! :)
