Sunday’s Sad News

Ok so the news isn’t that sad, but it is sad to me! Today I woke up early and went on my 10 mile run. I was feeling good, a little stomach cramps here and there, and then at mile 5 when I went to look at my Garmin, it WAS DEAD! No screen, I thought for sure it must have been the battery even though I charged it over night. Sadly it wasn’t the battery it’s dead. So no Garmin stats on the run, here’s all I got:

HER Workout:

Day 4 of Boston training: First Long Run

  • Distance: 10 Miles
  • Time: 1:31
  • Pace: around 9 minuets I think
  • Calories: around 800

Week 1 recap 15 more weeks to go!!!!

Monday: Off from running, Kickboxing
Tuesday: Ran 3.73 miles, and Kickboxing
Wednesday: OFF DAY
Thursday: Ran 3.5 miles
Friday: Ran 5 miles, weights, and abs
Saturday: OFF DAY
Sunday: Ran 10 miles

Total Mileage: 22.23

*This week I hope to more yoga and weights!!!

I came home and emailed Garmin, hopefully I can get it fixed if not I guess I’ll have to get a new one. Man and at the BEGINNING of my training, I will have an attitude of gratitude:)

So on the flip side I have some exciting news, I am trying to stay positive. Look what came in the mail last week the Vita-Mix Super 5200 blender!!! It also Included with the blender was the most amazing Whole Food Recipes binder, packed full of wonder recipes. I am so grateful, I can not wait to add it it to our kitchen appliances. I have already used it twice this weekend. After my run I made a protein smoothie, and here is some homemade hummus.

Yesterday I made homemade hummus, so easy with this blender.

Hummus

Recipe from the Vita-Mix “Getting Started” guide

Makes 3 3/4 cups

Ingredients:

  • 2 - 15 ounce cans of chick peas (garbanzos), one drained, one undrained
  • 1/4 cup raw sesame seeds (I omitted these)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 1 garlic glove, minced
  • 1 tsp cumin

Directions:

  • Place all ingredients in blender in order listed.
  • Blend until smooth.
  • If necessary, use the tamper to push the ingredients into the blades while processing.

After blending the hummus, I took out about half and added it to a storage container for later. To the remaining hummus, I added approximately 1/2 an avocado , then continued to blend.

Childcare 021

avocado hummus + plain hummus

So for lunch today I made leftover Chicken Pot Pie

Childcare 006

Some pita chips + avocado hummus (I am addicted to this stuff).

Childcare 007 and an orange

Alright I am going to organize a bit, and then do my Jillian Michaels DVD, hopefully I am not too sore. I have off tomorrow so I am excited to stay up late and get my to do list completed!!!! Anyone else have off tomorrow?
