Sunday’s Sad News

Ok so the news isn’t that sad, but it is sad to me! Today I woke up early and went on my 10 mile run. I was feeling good, a little stomach cramps here and there, and then at mile 5 when I went to look at my Garmin, it WAS DEAD! No screen, I thought for sure it must have been the battery even though I charged it over night. Sadly it wasn’t the battery it’s dead. So no Garmin stats on the run, here’s all I got:

I came home and emailed Garmin, hopefully I can get it fixed if not I guess I’ll have to get a new one. Man and at the BEGINNING of my training, I will have an attitude of gratitude:)

So on the flip side I have some exciting news, I am trying to stay positive. Look what came in the mail last week the Vita-Mix Super 5200 blender!!! It also Included with the blender was the most amazing Whole Food Recipes binder, packed full of wonder recipes. I am so grateful, I can not wait to add it it to our kitchen appliances. I have already used it twice this weekend. After my run I made a protein smoothie, and here is some homemade hummus.

Directions:

  • Place all ingredients in blender in order listed.
  • Blend until smooth.
  • If necessary, use the tamper to push the ingredients into the blades while processing.

After blending the hummus, I took out about half and added it to a storage container for later. To the remaining hummus, I added approximately 1/2 an avocado , then continued to blend.
