Eight More Days!

No running for me this morning. When I looked at the clock it said, 5am and my body said YA RIGHT!! Five hours of sleep doesn't cut it, so I guess I will be hitting the gym tonight.

This morning I was inspired by Meghann and Kath's bowl of yogurt and cereal.

monday 037

  • 1 container of Fresh and Easy Yogurt
  • Handful blueberries
  • Half banana
  • Tbsp flax
  • Few tbsp of Bobbi’s Granola Greatness
  • Handful of Puffins
  • Tbsp of PB
  • Drizzle of Honey

monday 038

This bowl was perfect and I think it should hold me over better then a plain old bowl of cereal.

Today I wanted to share with you all the race that I have been working on.

So... the Wild West Relay is quickly approaching...actually, it's in 8 days!

  • 200 miles, 24 hours
  • 12 runners per team
  • 36 legs total

  • Really, really challenging terrain but it promises to pretty amazing

We gathered runners from all over the blogosphere and then some! Here's our team, the Dangerous Dozen!! 10 girls and 2 guys!

We also have two of my lovely friends driving out with me to volunteer for us, thanks Sandra and Carly :)

Being the Captain has been a  hella stressful little overwhelming, but fun at the same time. From planning the packing list, hotels, transportation, and all the race details I haven’t had to much time to actually think about the RACE!! I guess I am not looking at this as a race but as a time to see COLARADO for the first time and meet some pretty amazing people!

We leave this Wednesday night for a 15 hour road trip to Fort Collins, CO. I am so excited and I know that everything is in place and now I can focus on the RUN!

Anyone have any ideas about how our team can creatively uniform itself?? Crazy sox? Hats? We need ideas!!!

Hubby’s Random Fact: Every day, the average person swallows about a quart of snot.

WOW, that’s crazy have a great Thursday Friends!

Wow! That looks like a blast! You have some great legs (litteraly :) ), I can't wait for race report!
Since it's all girls, I think anything pink would be appropriate, but remember some bright colors, too! You'll be in the dark at times. I am very impressed by all your hard work of time and energy - you're gonna rock it! Have a graet day! :)

Socks are definitely a great idea, I would get some knee socks (that way they also work as compression tools lol)

That race looks so amazing and fun!! Wow, what a challenge!

You all should pick a color shirt and wear those. Something fun like hot pink, lime green or orange!

That sounds really neat!
A friend of mine is doing something like that in October, the one from Utah to Las Vegas.

Best of luck!
Maybe your team can come up with a theme that every that everyone agrees on and use that for costume ideas. Like pirates, zombies or vampires. Everyone can wear a little something around the theme.

I think it would be cute to make matching t-shirts/running tanks. Even if it's just with some diy stuff from Michael's! Like Caitlin's (HTP) relay shirts were super cute!
Or shorts with your 'team name' on the booty!

Wow that looks like an awesome race! Do you have any tips on how to dress for the night part of the race? I am doing the E.T Full Moon Midnight Marathon next week in Vegas and the starting time is 12am! I'm wondering where I can get headlights or if I even need it?

Too bad our t shirt machine isn't up and running yet - we just bought it! But I can teach you an easy way to make t shirts... then again I am guessing you will be wearing running shirts!

Maybe you can do ribbons for your hair. Like tie ribbons onto a pony tail holder for your ponytails... does that make you remember cheer? haha

oh and to your next post... i have the same camera!
