My First Day+"Making the Cut” Book Review

So today was actually a lot of fun! I had a lot of information thrown at me, and I am excited to learn more tomorrow! I got to eat lunch with Hubby, how cool is that? We ate outside and enjoyed the beautiful weather. I met a lot of new people today, and I am hoping I can remember all of their names :) A lot of them already follow my blog(Hubby told them about it) so they already know a ton about me! I promise to have pictures of my lovely desk and all the goodies they blessed me with tomorrow!

After work Hubby and I carpooled home and I posted my GIVEAWAY, go check it out!!! I relaxed for a bit before I headed out for AKB(which was pretty hardcore). It was nice to get home so early, I think I am going to love my new schedule.

I have a little review for you all tonight about the book I have been reading called “Making the Cut” by Jillian Michaels.

1

It’s a pretty good book so far lot’s of wonderful tips and ideas about meals and workouts. I like that she is REAL in the book and doesn't sugar coat anything! Her book is a guide on how to drop those stubborn last 10 or 15 pounds in 30 days.

"Making the Cut: The 30-Day Diet and Fitness Plan for the Strongest, Sexiest You" sets itself apart from the myriad of fitness and weight loss books at your local bookstore because Michaels' program uses the process of oxidizing as a way to determine what kind of a metabolism your body has in order to lose weight effectively.

I took her oxidizing test to see how my metabolism works and apparently I am a balanced oxidizer and get my energy from a balanced amount of carbs, fats, and proteins. She has a 30 meal plan for me, and a 30 day workout that will help me to tone and get in the best shape of my life.

I don’t think I need to lose ANY WEIGHT, and I am pretty happy with the skin I am in, but I really like how she has a great workout routine that will mix it up a bit. I am not taking a HUGE BREAK from running, but I am slowing down my mileage for a little bit. Nothing major but I am giving my legs a bit of a rest. So I have decided to take Jillian’s 30 day challenge, I will still do my pushups,sit-ups, and,but will be doing Jillian’s workouts as well.

She’s got a couple rules in the book that I already live by. No junk food, eating four meals a day, and hydrating. The one that will be hard is no sweets or booze. I know it is going to be hard, but I really want to test this program out and see what results come out it.

I am not going to stick to the meal plan, because I already eat healthy I am going to do the workouts as closely as possible.

I am getting a bit bored with my workout routine, it’s time for some major circuit training and intensity?! Has anyone done her 30 day plan? If so what did you think?

Alright folks off to bed I go, Hubby and I are going to swim laps early tomorrow, at the pool at work!

I did the plan a while back (w/o the food too). Honestly, it was pretty challenging, but SO good. The only problem is the workouts are pretty long so it doesn't leave too much time for cardio and they should be done at the gym.

But it's worth it cuz you'll get great results!

That's so great that you had a good first day! I can't wait to hear more about it.

I just started reading "Master Your Metabolism" by Jillian but I heard about this book as well. I agree, I think she has a ton of valid points and I really respect her approach.

Good luck with the challenege. It's good to mix it up with the workouts! :)

Have a great day!!

I love Jillian Michaels! I am reading her "Master Your Metabolism" book right now. It is very innovative and interesting. I started yesterday eating the foods she recommends to balance out your hormones. I will let you know if I feel better/look better. Yesterday I had so much energy I could burst...so that is a great sign already! haha

She's on the cover of my latest Self magazine and I like her no-bull approach too! I always told myself if I were a contestant on TBL, I'd definitely choose her over Bob, only because I think I response better to sassy over sweet. Good luck on your challenge! I'm curious to see how it works for ya.

I have adapted her routine to a M-W-F routine that I have been doing the last 3 weeks, it was very challenging at first, but I feel like my body is getting a bit used to it, she does amp it up ever 5 or 6 works out though, and i'm running Tues, Thurs, Sat and I've had to take days off due to sore hamstrings and quads, I too skipped the meal plan, I think it is a nice change of pace!

I love how real Jillian Michael's is, and have been wanting to check out this book. Thanks for reviewing.

I can imagine the no sweets or booze would be difficult. Sometimes it's nice to just have a glass of wine - and at our age, so many social gatherings involve aclohol in some capacity. If I decide to take her challenge, that's definitely one thing I will struggle with, but will aim to work toward!

Happy Second Day!

I will be truly interested in seeing what kind of results you see, I've been curious about this plan. Maybe I'll have to check out the book from my local library and see what her workout plan is.

Have a great day! :)
