Frozen Steelcut Oats+Her First Half Ironman

OH my goodness it is almost Friday, one more day to go!!!!

I am getting so stoked about the weekend! I love the beach and this will be the first time we go this year:) One of my friends Erin is having a bond fire down there and it’s going to be a blast!

So last night I mentioned a Half Ironman I would be doing this weekend, well it’s kind of true;) A half ironman consists of  a 1.2mile swim, 56mile bike ride and a 13.1mile run. It’s my goal to do one of these competitively one day, but for now I am just doing a mini one for fun! On Saturday morning I am doing a ten mile run and then getting on my bike with some friends and riding 25 miles down to the beach. Then once at the beach I plan on getting my swim on!!! So I shall be doing almost a half marathon, half of 56 mile bike ride, and I am sure there will be less then a mile swim in there!!! Have you ever thought of doing an Ironman, or half Ironman?

Taking the list I got about energizing foods last night, I complied a yummy jump start breakfast!

I started with some Newman’s Own Organic Dried Cranberries, delish! I love these babies:)

I tried Trader Joe's Steelcut Oatmeal this morning, They say, “ T.J’s Frozen Steel Cut Oatmeal brings speed and convenience to the previously time-consuming process of cooking steel cut oats.” This is sooo true! I love making Steelcut oats, but when I don’t have the time, these are perfect!

I am riding my bike to Kettlebell class this morning but I am having second thoughts. I had a great 8 hours of sleep and feel ready to hit the gym, but I have so much to get done around here that I might have to skip it. But I know me I will be bummed if I don't go, decisions, decisions.

Have a Thought Provoking Thursday!!!

That sounds like an exciting weekend!! I would love to do a mini-half iron man on my own like that too! I think eventually I'd love to compete in something like that BUT I first need to get a proper riding bike and practise.

Amazing looking oats!!

Have a wonderful day!!

Hey Bobbi!! Where do you take kettle bell classes in Redlands???

Youre technically doing an Olympic triathlon with a lil more run! An Oly is a .9 mile swim, 25 mile bike, and 10k run :-) i KNOW you could do a half one day, girl! You should check out the sprint tris and Olympics first, though....just my two cents :-)

Sounds like a fun weekend!! I would love to do any type of tri but the swimming part is so intimidating!! Hope your tummy issues are gone soon!(unless it's like what everyone else is saying and your preggers!) :)

I completed my first full Ironman last year and it was awesome. I definitely think you should go for it and attempt a half. Have fun this weekend!

Ahhh! First 1/2 Ironman! Your mini one sounds like fun :)

I feel like foods that don't agree with me take a full day to "go away."

A half ironman sounds incredible. I can't imagine even doing that. Good luck!
I wasn't a big fan of the TJ oats. I should try it again. I didn't dislike it, but it just wasn't as good as homemade.

Wow! You have another jam-packed weekend! Good thing you got your rest today! I did get the evite for Sunday, by the way. We are planning on coming pending on Tyler's behavior. If he is having problems, I will still try to see you guys.

I have wanted to do an ironman in the past (y'know... when I was in basketball shape) but these days I don't think I could do it. :-(
