Friday Night Wining Leads to Saturday Morning Climbing
The past 24 hours have been a crazy mess of FUN!!! Let me back track a bit to Friday.
Friday was Bring Your Bike to School Day, and I got paid to ride my bike to the Frozen Yogurt shop with my students!!!
It’s about a one mile bike ride, and we even got escorted by police officers. I think their were about 50+ kids that participated, it was a fun and informative event!
I got a mini Peanut butter Cup/Heath FROYO! OOOO this combination was explosive, and both yogurts were Fat Free!
Moving on to Friday night…
Hubby and I attended a Wine and Appetizer Party!! It was our first time having a wine tasting at a friends house. Our friends provided all the yummy appetizers, and everyone brought a bottle of their favorite wine to share. What a GREAT IDEA!!!
The Spread
First go around of the appetizers; mini pizza, fruit, crescent roll with gouda cheese and some sourdough bread with tomato spread. It was all yummy!
I think the bread and hummus spreads were my favorite because I went back for seconds thirds and forths. My first glass of wine, was a Bogle Vineyard Zinfandel. it was very smooth and quite tasty.
I also had a few sips of a couple more, because I had a 15 miler the next morning I just tasted and didn’t drink too much.
THE WINES
On the left I tried, Folie A Deux Menage A Trois White, it was good a little sweet I am not the biggest fan of white wines but I like it.
On the right is the Velvet Moon Cab; I thought their were hints of cinnamon but could not really get a real taste on what it reminded me of although It did remind me of something but I could not put my finger on it.
I was a bit sad that I couldn’t try more, but I didn't want to regret it in the morning.
This picture is funny, #1 you can’t see the wine glass in my hand, #2 you can see Hubby in the window:)
My last plate for the evening, loved the mini pizzas!
Saturday Morning…
3:15am wake up call!!! Yes I know I am crazy, but we beat the heat and got done early. We ran 15 miles and it was a pretty good run. Besides the fact that we ran 7.5 miles straight UP HILL!!! Good thing it was dark I couldn’t tell as much. The only pain I had was in my left IT Band, but it was just a little pain.
After the run I tried something new, a Hammer Chocolate Chip Bar. It is a all natural, it has 220 calorie, 9 grams of protein, and pure goodness!!! It tasted a lot like a Larabar. It isn’t very low in fat, but well rounded; Fat 36.8%Carbs 47.3 Protein16.4% .
Certified Organic Ingredients: Organic Almond Butter, Organic Date Paste, Organic Agave Nectar, Organic Dark Chocolate Chips - Non-Dairy (Organic Evaporated Cane Juice, Organic Chocolate Liquor, Organic Cocoa Butter, Non-GMO Soya Lecithin), Organic Brown Rice Protein, Organic Bio Sprouts™ - Flax, Organic Bio Sprouts™ - Quinoa, Organic Raisins, Organic Sesame Seeds.
Since i finished my run by 6:30am, I was able to meet up with some friends from work at 6:45am for a Birthday hike!!!
A nice 5 mile hike, it was absolutely beautiful!!!
The haze covered the view a bit, you can still see the valley under it.
When we got to the top, their were boulders leading up to this giant white cross. It was an outside ampatheater. This was a perfect way to start a Saturday, Hubby and I will be back here soon!!!
We laid out a blanket and set out for a birthday picnic. Sandy was a great little organizer, she brought cheese and cracker, fruit, and cupcakes!
The Spread
I had some fruit, and of course I had to have a cupcake!! After a 15 mile run+hike, I think I deserved it!
The Birthday Girls blowing out their candles.
Wow that was a lot to cover:) I am going to eat some lunch now and then tackle the Saturday to do list

I am really impressed with your ability to run over 7 miles and then agree to a 5 mile hike!!!
Amazing.
I love the wine tasting/appetizer party idea!
Your school looks a whole lot like my middle school. Are you in California? I'm from Arizona, but I'm thinking the scenery looked more like CA.
What fun to take a bike ride with your students!
Next Wednesday I am going to an amusement park with my class! I can't wait! I get to be a kid again on the roller coasters! :)
