Eat, I love checking out local restaurants that I can't find anywhere else. Oh, and major shopping!

Hmmm, on vacation, I like to run and see a non-touristy part of the city. Then I like to EAT EAT EAT and try tasty restaurants.

I live right outside DC. Lots of great museums downtown so I definitely recommend checking them out. If you like modern art, be sure to go to the Hirschorn.

I love eating and site seeing on vacation! I just got back from vacation in DC a few weeks ago and it's SO much fun. It would take a lifetime to see everything! My husband and I think our first marathon will be the National Marathon in DC next March!

Be careful driving from Delware to DC... we made that same drive on our trip and I got a speeding ticket. :( They're brutal in those small towns!

I love to eat out for breakfast on vacation. Also, to have someone else make my bed everyday isn't so bad either! Congratulations on your run...I had tears in my eyes reading your recap...good for YOU! :)

we always end up going to the same places for vacation so it's never really that exciting anymore! my dad is kind of a "tried-and-true" type of person :)

Please tell me you went to my favorite restuarant in Philly(where i live), Horizons?! Amazing vegan food, great atmosphere. If not there, then where?? can't wait to hear about it. Hopefully you got to try some Capigiro Gelato while in town as well. Too bad you won't be in Philly next weekend for the Broad Street Run, which i am racing for the first time this year. Everyone i know says it is an amazing time and tons of fun. My first ten miler!
As for your question traveling for me means becoming a part of the local culture; drinking, eating, playing as the local people do. I think it is the best way to truly expierience a new place.
