Inaugural McCormick Super Bowl Party

Hello friends, I am sorry for the lack of posting and commenting this weekend let me fill you in just a bit, and you should see why!

Friday:

AM: First Anatomy Quiz think I did pretty well
PM: Ran 6 miles at night (first time ever) and did some major 7:40pace running! I really liked running at night, the weather was perfect I was just a little nervous about weirdo's out at night!  When I got home hubby helped me study for my test on the skull which I really appreciated, thanks hubs!

Saturday:

AM A&P Lab
: took skull quiz only missed one!!!! YEAH for studying!
Afternoon: Cleaned ad prepared for Suber bowl party (seriously we worked from sun up till sun down.
PM: Ordered Pizza Hut’s All Natural Pizza

"The Natural" pizza at Pizza Hut consists of the following: a multi-grain crust, a flavorful pizza sauce made from organic tomatoes and then they top the whole thing off with handfuls of all natural mozzarella cheese. You can choose to top the pizza off with other natural ingredients such as natural chicken sausage, natural marinated sliced tomatoes or natural fire-roasted peppers. And a 1-topping "Natural" pizza will only set you back $10.99. We were so pooped from cleaning that this was the easiest thing next to fast food. The pizza was ok, I definitely prefer our homemade pizzas better. The crust was good not too bready, and I really like the sauce on it too.

I added mushrooms to it, with no cheese(lactose-intolerant) and of course made a little side salad. I also went back for seconds, one more slice.

MCCORMICK SUPERBOWL PARTY

Now on to the festivities of Sunday. Before the party I ran 13.2 miles at an 8:30 average for my Boston training all by myself, I called it my “Yes I can EAT” Half marathon, because I knew what the day had in store!

I am not a huge fan of football(love Kurt Warren though;)) , but I think that the Super Bowl is another wonderful way to gather friends together for food and entertainment. I love HOSTING parties, sometimes I wish I could do it for a living!

The Spread: AKA Grazing ZONE!

I made a huge veggie platter, because I knew that everything else would be so tempting, along with some home made hummus with the Vita-Mix!

The Chili Bar: This is the perfect meal for a Super Bowl party. People can come and go as they please, because it stays warm through the whole party!

I had all the toppings, cheese, sour cream, organic corn chips and mini muffins!

We also had hubby’s favorite, ROTELL!!!

The Desert Bar: This wasn’t as tempting to me as all the snacks were!!! None the less it all looked soooo good!

The Decor: I ordered some balloons of the team colors and put m&m’s in small football bowls all over the house. We also had three TV’s going one in each living room and one in the garage. I like keeping it simple.

We also had a fun pool, where everyone had to predict what was going to happen in the game. Everyone put $5 dollars in, and the winner took all!!! CONGRATS GREG!!!

THE AFTERPARTY: Bro and I cleaning up!!! Friends were so great though, they stayed back and helped too!!!

superbowl2009 035

I sent as much food home with others as possible, we don’t need all of the goodies at our house!

superbowl2009 001The party was so fun, and I can’t wait to do it again next year. As you can see I didn’t take too many pics of what I ate because it was a constant grazing fest, I didn’t go over board though. I did have two of these, I know I am giving up alcohol for the marathon training but I made an acceptation just this once.

I am now on DETOX mode!!! Today I plan on eating nothing, but fruits and veggies I was curious this morning how much damage I did last night and STEPPED on the scale, what was I thinking YOU SHOULD NEVER do that! Let’s just say I was depressed for a bit but know that’s mostly water weight (and all that salt I ate last night).

I am doing Detox Yoga this morning and then eating a nice healthy bowl of oats!!! Back to the grind! Hope everyone had a safe and fun SUPERBOWL SUNDAY!!!!

P.S. CONTEST REMINDER!!! If you haven’t already make sure to visit this post and leave a comment , to win a free Camelbak water bottle. Contest ends on Wednesday February 5th!!!!

That looks like such a fun (and delicious) super-bowl party! Maybe we can pretend that those Doritos commercials from last night are real and we can eat Doritos today to get rid of the water weight from yesterday. Just crunch a chip and imagine what you want They fulfill all of your wishes, right?? Haha, I wish!

Love your blog,
Kelly's Belly

Thanks for the review of the "natural" pizza. I was wondering about it but too afraid to take the plunge and order it.

Your party looks like SO MUCH FUN. And your spread was so yummy AND healthy (unlike mine).

Great job on A&P. You're kicking butt, Miz Bobbi!

you got some great runs in sometimes i have GREAT nighttime runs, it clears the day away. and 13 miles woo woo, isn't it hard to go solo sometimes? i do all of my runs solo except for the one day i'm at running club and it is def challenging. great pictures and awesome party!!!! i love the name-cards for the food and all your prep! :)

That party reminds me of the one we had, except you had cuter decorations and more girls at yours! And...you're friends stayed to help clean. Ours most certainly did not. This morning I found a paper plate in one of our plants on our balcony.

I prefer pizza without cheese, but I never thought of to just order it without any! I will next time.

THAT SPREAD LOKOS AMAZING! Totally jealous. I feel the same way about football, wanted Kurt to win, I liked him when I liked football for a year, hah.
