Sunday Morning Strolls

On this day in History in 1907 Oklahoma becomes the 46th state of the United States of America.

Oh how the fall is my favorite time of year, where the leaves change and the air cools. I love wakening up in the early morning and just laying in bed to keep warm, and then as I step out the door to begin my day I am all layered up in my fall wardrobe (well soon if it ever gets cold here) I truly look at the cloudy days, and rainy days as blessings in disguise, because if it wasn't for the yucky days we wouldn't appreciate the beautiful Autumn ones.

Wouldn't it be nice to be a kid again for a day? To live life as though there weren’t anything you really had control over so there was no use worrying. I mean I know that we control our decisions and our steps, but really we don't, we know so little compared to our maker. Who grants us Grace everywhere we look, we even see his Grace in creation, in the people to the left and right of us. That’s what I want to aspire to be the very reflection of Grace and true Thankfulness...What does that look like?

This morning I woke up and took Bosco for a walk. I haven’t gone for a walk in a long time. It felt good just to look around at all the beauty, to pray, and just be still. I know technically I was moving but kind of like Mississippi, slowly.

When I got back home I made a big bowl of Cranberry Oats in my new bowl, I think these are my favorite. There is something about cranberries in oatmeal that makes my mouth pucker with excitement.

Cranberry Oats Combo:
1/2 c oats
1/4 c H2O
1/2 c almond milk (not as creamy but good)
1/4 cup homemade cranberry sauce (warm this up separately)
a little Honest foods Blueberry Vanilla Almond granola plank
handful of almonds
handful of flax seeds spoonful of apple butter( got this at Marshall’s NO SUGAR added)
2 tbs of Hemp seeds for protein

We have a big day ahead of us! Were going to Church this morning and then I have a fun Holiday scrap booking workshop at Collective Journeys. Then tonight we are going to a house warming party, then I teach AKB, and lastly we have a softball game! The day is just begun, have a beautiful one:) I thought Sundays were for REST...lol

So crazy that Obama is really our next president - there was a great interview with him and Michelle on 60 Minutes last night. He spoke about how impactpul his being the first African-American president is on those that grew up and experienced segregation, etc first hand. My dad's whole fam is from the south so my dad is pretty floored - he said that when he was a little kid he would've never imagined this - it's pretty awesome, no matter what your politics.

Autumn is my favorite time of year as well - although as I look out my window right now, it's definitely winter, haha :-D
