Bobbi’s Butt Kicking Bootcamp

Hey have you check out Gina’s fridge? You must!!!

Ok on to last night, it was just too fun! Our Thursday night group went out for Pizza and then hit up the evening Farmer’s Market.

1

I loved these sunflowers!!!

2

We went to the Gourmet Pizza Shop where you can order whatever you want on a Pizza. There were actually a lot of new faces that visited our group last night, and I met three people who do IRONMANS!!! I had so many questions that I took me forever to EAT! I am excited to talk to them more, and may even be training with them soon:)

3

I got the, “That’s A Gouda Pizza”(minus the gouda cheese). So it was basically BBQ chicken pizza with cashews, and the perfect little size.
7

My friends Steve, and Katelyn ordered the Hamburger Pizza. It’s basically everything you would put on a hamburger but on a pizza crust, even thousand island dressing!! YUCK!

4

When I got home I made some of Angela’s Flax & Oat Breakfast Power Muffins. I have been really wanting to make them and with the Bootcamp in the morning I knew that my girls would love them!!! After I baked them I hit the hay early to be ready for my first Bootcamp workout!

BOBBI’S BOOTCAMP

Today was our first day of Bootcamp. In case you don’t know what this bootcamp thing is all about let me just explain a little. A friend and I have decided to host a bootcamp every Friday morning at 6am for the next 18 weeks. We are inviting our co-workers, and friends! It’s an hour long session with weights, punching bags, and cardio. We are doing 2 weeks at my kickboxing studio and 2 weeks at the local park each month, just to switch it up a bit. When we are at the gym we will do some stuff with weights, medicine balls, pushups and abs of course. When we are at the park they are going to bring their weights and we are going to do some walking, running, free weight action and much more!!!

What makes my Bootcamp different? Well after the hour workout people are encouraged to stick around for a 15-20 minute devotional time, and also a time to learn more about nutrition the Biblical way. There is an awesome journal that each member will get and they are encouraged to track what they eat and what they do as exercise everyday. I know that one day of bootcamp is not going to make a big difference, but if they commit to working out 4-5 days a week I know they will see a difference!! We also told them to come up with some kind of goal that they would like to achieve throughout the next 18 weeks.

Well that’s the basic background if you have any questions please feel free to ask!! Today was our first day, I was a little nervous to see who would actually show up. We had almost 20 WOMEN !!! WOW!!! I was pumped. We sat and chatted for the first 30 minutes about what the expectations are going to be and what the bootcamp was all about. I then taught them how to wrap their hands and taught them all the basic punches and kicks. Well I wanted them to sweat just a little, so I gave the a 15 minute teaser!! THEY LOVED IT!

I am so excited to see this thing grow, and to be able to help all these ladies is such a blessing!

I brought breakfast for the ladies,Angela’s Flax & Oat Breakfast Power Muffins, bananas, and Kashi Pumpkin Spice Granola Bars ! We plan on switching up who brings a healthy breakfast, that way we are all fueled and they get to learn how to eat a balanced nutritious breakfast!

After bootcamp I rushed home and made another wonderful smoothie, man I am loving these. I think my breakfast changes with the weather, because there is nothing like a cold smoothie on a warm morning! This one was not Green, it was an oatmeal berry smoothie  inspired by Kath.

I am so HAPPY it’s FRIDAY!!! My to do list has never looked longer and my house is a WRECK!!! I can not wait to get home and clean and work away on getting that list crossed off!! I do have an early morning easy 8-10 mile run(5am) that I am doing with my Running Group tomorrow morning, so I won’t be able to stay up too late. Also my good friend Melissa is running her first 1/2 marathon tomorrow so I am going to cheer her on nice and early as well, can’t wait!! GOOD LUCK MELISSA, am I crazy to want to run this with her?!! I won’t even though I WANT TO!

Hope you have fun tonight !!

Sounds like so much fun Bobbi! I think it's great that you are doing it on Fridays as well because we all know after a long week sometimes it is hard to get motivated so by meeting on Friday morning it gives people something to look forward to and a great end to the week!!

Looking forward to hearing how this works out over the upcoming weeks.

The boot camp sounds wonderful! I love the idea of the devotional time afterwards. Have you found any books at a Christian book store or else where that relates eating well, nutrition to God? I'm trying to find something from the Lord to guide me through this journey?

i think it's so awesome that your boot camp incorporates other aspects of people's lives rather than just exercise. after all, you can exercise all you want but if you don't eat well than your body will still suffer the consequences. and spirituality is definitely tied up in confidence, health and overall well being. good for you, and i hope others follow in your footsteps!
